Chapter 4: From nursery to ... not

DUNDEE - The once tidy nursery looks like a frontier town gone bust. Weeds grow where Chuck Reed once raised 500,000 young citrus trees, and made a decent living doing it. An ancient fruit sorter sits off to one side, rusting. A wooden hammer hangs by its claw from a dusty citrus crate. The box has held its last load of oranges. After surviving the freezes of the 1980s, things began to fall apart for Reed Bros.
