Chapter 18: Many roads, one namesake

Start in downtown Sarasota, where Orange Avenue meets Fruitville Road. There's not much fruit on this route today, but the road runs east toward Arcadia. There's an Orange Avenue there, too. It would be surprising if there wasn't one. Arcadia's avenue crosses State Road 70, which continues east to Okeechobee. Signs point north to U.S. 441, better known as the Orange Blossom Trail.
